Strength & Conditioning

Strength in service of movement

Strength is not only about how much force the body can produce, but how effectively it can organise and use that force.

At LOAD, Strength & Conditioning is approached as a systematic form of physical training that develops stability, control, mobility and endurance. It is not a competition against the body, nor is it about exhaustion for its own sake. The aim is to develop a functional and responsive body that can meet the demands of movement with greater safety and precision.

The class includes progressive exercises for the core, back, upper and lower body, as well as the stabilising muscles that support posture and the body’s overall organisation. Particular attention is given to alignment, breathing, weight transfer and quality of execution.

How is the class structured?

  • Activation and mobility: preparing the joints and gradually awakening the body.

  • Core stability: strengthening the centre and developing better support for the spine.

  • Functional strength: exercises that connect different areas of the body and develop integrated movement patterns.

  • Balance and coordination: improving control, proprioception and precision.

  • Integration and recovery: connecting individual exercises with whole-body movement and bringing the session to a gradual close.

For dancers, strength training provides a more stable foundation for jumps, turns, level changes and different movement dynamics. For people with no previous dance experience, it offers a meaningful way to understand their bodies and move with greater stability and confidence.

The class is open to dancers and non-dancers and is adapted to the level and abilities of each participant.

Our aim is not simply to develop a strong body, but a body that understands how to use its strength.
